Christmas Letter
Greetings family and friends,
We hope letter finds you all well and enjoying this Christmas season. We are so thankful for each of you and the love and support you’ve shown us throughout the years.
The year 2008 has held many significant events for us. We both changed jobs this year, Tiffany twice. We have been fortunate to find stable jobs working for the federal government in the Baltimore/DC area at a time when corporate training may be viewed as an expendable business expense. We’re both Instructional Designers and though we work in different offices, we get to carpool to work together. It’s hardly a commute for this area since we moved to Catonsville, MD, a suburb of Baltimore. We found a charming cape cod that was built with the quality and care that’s characteristic of homes built in decades past. The move was relatively easy, thanks to the abundant help of our friends and family, especially Molly and Bob.
With the move came a new church family. We’ve been put to work as youth leaders, Tiffany with the young women and Scott with the 14-15 year old Scouts. Tiffany is glad for a chance to work with a new age group and Scott, as always, is glad for the excuse to go camping each month. Scott was recently awarded the On My Honor award for his service in the scouting program in Odenton. We’ve been playing volleyball regularly, Tiffany on two teams some seasons. Tiffany’s summer women’s team won the championship for the BB league. We also tried an October beach 4s league at Baltimore’s Federal Hill overlooking the Inner Harbor, and while the setting was beautiful, it was a little colder than we’d have liked. :-)
Our fun has been tempered this year by the passing of Tiffany’s cousin and her Granny. Tiffany’s cousin Kristy was survived by her 4 children when she passed this fall to Leukemia. It was difficult to see her suffer through her treatment and we’re glad to know that she doesn’t suffer any longer. Our hearts and prayers go out to her children and the rest of our family who mourn her loss. Tiffany’s Granny was called home in September and we mourn her loss as well. Tiffany felt particularly close to her Granny. She helped look after Tiffany when she was a child and was the family hub around the holidays.
For all of our joys and sorrows we thank our Creator, knowing that He is the source of our blessings and our loving Father. We thank you for your love and friendship and pray that Providence be with you through the next year. Our door is always open. Come see us when you have a chance.
With love,
Scott and Tiffany Howell
