This weekend we thought it might be nice to take Dixie for a long walk in Patapsco State Park. I found a trail near our house when I was running with some friends from church a couple weeks ago and thought Scott and Dixie might enjoy it. It's quite the historic trail. Turns out the that the first submerged hydro-electric damn is along this trail (pics below) as well the first railroad along with some original railroad ties from the B&O. At first they tried to make the ties out of the granite stone that is so plentiful here, but apparently that was too difficult and they switched to the typical wood ties. Here are some pics from our walk and a link to some of the history around Patapsco: http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/patapscohistory.html
