Hayden visits the Pumpkin Patch

Since we had the day off today, we decided to take Hayden out to a Pumpkin Patch. We chose Sharp's Farm. What a nice day for a trip to the farm! The weather was beautiful, even if it was a bit damp from the rain the last few days. When we arrived, the pumpkin patch was quite busy with all of the school groups, but we enjoyed seeing all of the animals while they cleared out. Hayden especially enjoyed the chickens and the baby rabbits. Even though there were a lot of people there, the farm felt like a working farm. They have a small store, but there aren't food vendors and playgrounds and the other commercial stuff you see at some pumpkin patches and u-pick-it farms. Around noon we took a hay ride up to the pumpkin patch and found a pumpkin just Hayden's size. Really, it was as big as he is. But we also found one he could pick up and he had fun stacking it on top of another pumpkin and seeing the ladybugs and bumblebees. After we rode back down the hill on the hay wagon we did another round with the animals. A lady who works at the farm stopped as we were saying goodbye to the bunnies and she opened up the pen and got two out for Hayden to pet. All the way home he named all of the animals we saw and gave us his best cow impression. When we got home he found his stuffed bunny and gave it extra attention and said "I pet the bunny rabbit".  What a nice day!
