Camping in Lancaster with Sho and Sophia

Written by Scott Warm weather graced us for our annual Lancaster trip. It got chilly enough at night to be good for snuggling, but it was in the seventies during the day. It's been unseasonably warm, so the trees hadn't really started turning much. The campground was nice and it was convenient to everything we wanted to do. We requested to be on the outer loop in case Sophia cried at night, but luckily the field we were next to didn't smell like fresh fertilizer, like Florey's Campground. It turned out that Sophia was such a pleasure to have with us and she slept all night, both nights. We decided to try some new things while we were there like visit a "real working farm" and take a ride in a buggy. The real working farm was about as touristy as they come, but it was neat to get some history and details about the Amish lifestyle. At least our buggy driver was Amish. I got to ask some questions that I'd been wondering about. One of the things we love to do while in Lancaster is to shop at the produce stands and go to the markets for fresh eggs and cheese and meats. We decided that we'd just buy what we wanted to eat for our stay while visiting the markets, which worked out well until the end of the day on Saturday and we needed a few things that the markets didn't have. It turns out that there aren't any grocery stores (except for a very small one that was closed by the time we went looking) around where we were. We had to go all the way back to town to find a place, fighting holiday weekend traffic the whole way. I don't think we ate dinner untill 10. Next time we'll know :-) It was nice to have Shoshana and Sophia with us. Unfortunately, Shoshana's car had a leaky tire so we took her in to get new tires. Sophia was such a little cutie! She has such a happy disposition and dances on command. I hope we have one like her. After Shoshana put her down to bed we started a campfire and she and Tiff got to have some girl time. Meanwhile, I played with the fire. I got a rainbow stick at the camp store which makes the fire burn in a variety of vivid colors. It was really neat, but it was probably toxic. Here's Sophia Dancing:

This time she's playing Peak-a-Boo with Scott

Here are the pics we took this week.

Scott loves carving pumpkins, so he carved Dracula into his pumpkin while Sho and I chatted by the fire.
