We had a great weekend at the River for Independence Day with Pop Pop and our dear friends, Jeff and Jenelle. The weather was gorgeous, 82 degrees with a little breeze. Friday night we watched some great fireworks over Lodge Creek and had fun with some sparklers that Mrs. Leslie gave us. Of course Hayden couldn't wait to ride on Pappy's golf cart, so we took a trip down to the neighbor's to see his Pirate Cove. He builds custom pirate ships and has actually been featured on HGTV.
On Saturday, we went croaker fishing and water skiing. I haven't skied in several years, and it was a blast! I think we all enjoyed watching Jenelle ski. She's a fantastic skier! For dinner Scott cooked up some of Nan and Pappy's Halibut and we enjoyed Pop Pop's famous scalloped taters. It was a gorgeous weekend in one of our favorite places with great friends and family and great food. We can't ask for more than that!
