Oh, what a weekend! We enjoyed ourselves so much over the long weekend with Molly and Bob (aka Nan & Pappy) and our friends Robert and Jennifer, with a guest appearance by Tiffany's brother Paul and his wife Katie. Robert and Jennifer's gaggle of kids brought a whole different feeling to the river. We got to relax plenty, but they brought an energy and excitement that made it a lot of fun. We crabbed and fished, kayaked to the secret lagoon and saw a real pirate ship. And what good food we ate! Molly and Bob were so nice to host us and they layed out such a spread. We had a fish fry on Saturday and a clam bake on Sunday. They kids were very industrious and provided us with over a dozen crabs to throw on top of the clam bake. We ventured up the street to a local crab operation to see how they get softshells and we picked up about 25 pounds of croaker for the fish fry. Hayden was so agreeable, but boy did he make a mess when he sneezed all over Tiffany with a mouth full of rice cereal! Fun was had by all, and the weather couldn't have been better.
Of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't thank all of those who have served and are currently serving in the armed forces for their dedication and sacrifice. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And we remember those who gave their all in the service of our country and defending freedom domestically and abroad. Without all of their sacrifices and the sacrifices of their families we wouldn't be able to enjoy the many blessings we have.
