Dad, Charlie and the Liberty Ship, and lots of good news!

It's been an exciting few weeks for us. We came back from vacation a few days early so that I could attend an awards ceremony at work. Dad and his brother Charlie drove up to see me receive the award and stayed a couple days with us. It was Hayden's first time meeting his Great-Uncle Charlie. :-) We took them to Ft. McHenry and to taste some Afghani food at The Helmand.

This week Scott received a promotion at work and found out that he was accepted into the Master's Program at work. What great news the week of Father's Day! Congrats honey - we are so proud of you!

Then this weekend, Dad came back up for Father's Day. We toured the SS John W. Brown, a Liberty Ship from WWII. It was the predecessor to the Victory ships that my Paw Paw sailed on during the Korean War. He was on the SS Rockwall. We got a personal tour and we were able to see the Blue Angels doing their warm ups for the big Sailabration this weekend at Ft. McHenry. It's the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812.

Hayden had a big week too...his first tooth popped through the gum line Thursday morning. I had a feeling something was going on since he screamed like he was in pain Wednesday night and had to be rocked for a while until he felt better. He's been a little fussy, but not too bad considering it probably feels like a knife is coming up through his gums!

Happy First Father's Day Scott! You are such a wonderful father and husband. We love you dearly!

Here are some photos of Dad and Charlie's visit, along with our tour of the Liberty Ship.

Good pictures of your dad and Charlie and of course, Hayden. Glad to see the teeth coming in...hope they won't cause him too much pain. Happy belated Father's day to all - thanks for the pictures and update - Wanda
