Elk Neck

With a dead fuel pump just days before, we weren't sure we were going to be able to take the trailer out, but the dealership came through just in time for us. They finished with the truck at 10am on Friday. Unfortunately, we weren't able to get the trailer ready earlier since the fuel pump died just as I finished hooking up the trailer to tow it home on Wednesday, but it was a relief that it didn't die 5 minutes later as I sat in rush hour traffic on the highway, unable to pull it over to the shoulder. Imagine that! Well, anyway, we got off to a late, yet timely start since we missed all of the major storms that rolled through Elk Neck just before we arrived.
Elk Neck State Park turned out to have a very nice loop, clean facilities and a great location. And boy did we have nice weather! After the storms rolled out, the heat and humidity dropped leaving us with unbeleivably comfortable weather. On Saturday we had a great time taking Hayden to the swimming area and enjoying dinner with the neighbors. Sunday we took a nice morning hike down to the Turkey Point light house. The lighthouse had a great view of the northern bay from atop the bluff. It was a great start to the camping season.
