Hayden's New Tricks

Hayden has learned several new tricks over the last couple months. We so enjoy watching him grow and learn new things!

Here are a few of the cute things he does now:

• Claps (Pattycake)
• Mimics- tries to feed mommy
• Waves bye bye and even says bye bye (when he feels like it of course)
• Says a few words- Mama, Dada, No, Ut-Oh, Bye Bye, and last night he started saying Ba for ball.
• He says "ummmm" a lot when's eating something yummy
• He makes baby signs. He can sign these words for us now:
• All Done
• More
• No
• Milk (sort of)

He has a serious attention span! He will play with his shape box for 30+ minutes without being distracted. He also gets engrossed in his big lego-like blocks and will play just as long with those too. With this detailed attention span comes a down side though. He has figured out how to push the silicone top in on every soft top sippy cup we have purchased for him. Which of course causes major spillage.So, we had to move on to hard tops... which of course he doesn't like because he can't take them apart!

He also has 2 new molars this week and is working on a couple more. He's done really well with getting his molars. We had a few screaming incidences. You know things like he's playing with his shapes when all of a sudden the pain hits him and he bangs the star as hard as he can into his gums and then gets mad at the star because it hurts and throws it on the floor. Then we get the teether out and suggest that he suck on that instead. ;-) But, thankfully he has slept through the night so far. He's still a great sleeper. He sleeps 12 hrs at night and takes two, two hour naps a day. Kudos to the Baby Wise method for this good sleeper.

He's still not walking, but I'm sure that will come with time (and require a lot more patience).
